sight of sound music: chamber symphony op 110a (allegro motto) by Dmitry Shostakovich

this is what i think when i hear this song:

opening- a man running away from something. camera is shaking a lot.
slower parts- either the same guy in at another part sitting relaxing
then back to the running.
i think of car chases (but thats going to be difficult)
fencing! because that sounds fancy and energetic.

series review: On The Case with Paula Zahn

for my series review I'm going to do a review over "On the Case with Paula Zahn"

the show is like a docu-series. a woman named Paula Zahn goes out and finds murder cases. she goes through intensive research to find the close relatives of the victim(s) and the police and detectives involved. sometimes she even has the lawyers/jury that were involved with the sentencing of the murderer.

thats what the whole show is about, but every episode is different. one is talking about a college girl being murdered at the park ( i saw that one this morning) or a young boy is kidnapped and found dead along a trail (i saw that one yesterday morning) i like this show a lot because its always a different mini plot per episode. i don't have to worry about falling behind and i also like mysteries.

Director review.

so i did my director review/ movie review on Ang Lee and his movie Hulk (2003)

Born in 1954 in Pingtung, Taiwan, Lee has become on of todays greatest contemporary filmmakers. He graduated from the National Taiwan College of Arts in 1975 and then came to America and received a BFA Degree in Theatre/Theater Direction at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a Masters Degree in Film Production at NYU.

Lee made Sense and Sensibility (1995), his first Hollywood-mainstream movie.  It acquired a Best Picture Oscar nomination, and won Best Adapted Screenplay, for the film's screenwriter and lead actress, Emma Thompson.  Lee was also voted the years Best Director by the National Board of Review and the New York Film Critics Circle..

on hulk- Bruce Banner, a genetics researcher with a "tragic" past, suffers and accident that causes him to transform into a raging green monster when he gets angry.

the whole movie is basically the police trying to find him and him running away and him destroying everything. its a really good movie i like it.

the Slient Era

so the silent era is an era in which films were with no synchronized recorded sound, especially with no spoken dialogue.  in silent films for entertainment the dialogue was transmitted through muted gestures, mime, and title cards. the idea of combining motion pictures with recorded sound is nearly as old as film itself, but because of technical challenged involved, synchronized dialogue was only made practical in the late 1920's. this era lasted from about 1895-1929.

the film from the silent era i decided to watch was "the Gold Rush" staring Charlie Chaplin. it was also directed by Charlie Chaplin.

so lets make this simple: people say theres gold on a mountain in Alaska. Jim McKay discovers gold on his claim. then theres this big storm and he had to take refuge in a cabin. he didn't know that the cabin had a guy already in there. the occupant wanted to throw prospector out but he said no. then there are strong winds and when they try to escape they are thrown back in. Jim is also thrown into the cabin. for 3 days the three men in the cabin as the storm goes on. thats pretty much all there is to it.

Aileen- Life and Death of a Serial Killer

Okay. so this weekend i saw Aileen- life and death of a serial killer.  this documentary is about Aileen Wuornos convicted of killing 7 men while working as a prostitute in Florida. This is actually the second Wuornos documentary made by this group the first being Aileen Wuornos: The Selling of a Serial Killer (1992).  This documentary follows Aileen after her trial and before her execution in 2002. i actually thought this documentary would be nice and interesting but its actually really boring.  it bored me to death.  i tried watching it but i just couldn't. it looks like it was made by amateur director. it was shaky the whole time and you could see a mic and look at all the cables at some points. other than that i thought the idea was kind of interesting.
